In the early 2000s, Jean-Marie Tassy, founder of UZIK, had the idea of organizing a festival in his native land: the bay of Calvi. With Édouard Rostand and Lionel Bensemoun, they draw up the main lines of the festival which they design above all to bring together the artists they love. The first edition was launched in 2003 and it already imposes the recipe that will make the success of the following ones: avant-garde programming, an exceptional setting and an intimate atmosphere. Au début des années 2000, Jean-Marie Tassy, fondateur d'UZIK, a l’idée d’organiser un festival sur sa terre natale : la baie de Calvi. Avec Édouard Rostand et Lionel Bensemoun, ils élaborent les grandes lignes du festival qu’ils conçoivent avant tout pour réunir les artistes qu’ils aiment. La première édition est lancée en 2003 et elle impose déjà la recette qui fera le succès des suivantes : une programmation avant-gardiste, un cadre exceptionnel et une ambiance intimiste. Onze ans plus tard, Calvi on the Rocks est devenu un des festivals incontournables sur la scène musicale electro-rock, pour le public comme pour les artistes.
