    The BoP Hub was established in 2011 with a vision to design business to end poverty. Our mission is to improve the lives of the poor by providing a platform, catalysing and strengthening cross-sector collaboration and participation in social entrepreneurship focused at the BoP. The BoP Hub serves as a gateway for business ventures, technologists and manufacturers to access the BoP markets. It will bundle and weave products with distribution, logistics, economies of scale, public policy, design, technology and complete the supply chain to create "faster, easier, better, cheaper"​ ways of delivering goods and services.     Our Strategy

    The Base of the Pyramid (BoP) represents the largest and also the poorest population worldwide with over 4 billion people, living on $8 a day or less. They carry the burden of poverty penalty, where they often pay more for lower quality basic goods and services due to inefficiencies in production and distribution.

    While including the BoP in the global marketplace presents incredible benefits and opportunities to all involved, there have been significant hurdles. As a result, the BOP is still a dysfunctional marketplace without efficient market infrastructure and absorption capacity for investment. Even the best practice models often work in silos and only in ethnocentric regions.

    BoP Hub’s strategy is to aggregate and scale up the best models across sectors and functions negotiating collaborative interwoven approaches and cutting wastage in the supply chain. With this approach, BoP HUB seeks to optimize efficiency and extract hidden value by reducing cost and offer better solutions. BoP HUB’s value proposition is to make products and services for BoP market cheaper, faster, easier and better.
