RBIJ works with businesses to champion fairness and equality across systems of justice.
The Responsible Business Initiative for Justice (RBIJ) works with companies to champion fairness, equality and effectiveness across systems of punishment and incarceration.
RBIJ grew out of a diverse collaboration: lawyers who had witnessed destructive cycles of incarceration first hand, businesses committed to seeing change within their communities, and government leaders working to secure human rights for all. Out of their collective insights, experiences and frustrations, a common vision formed that became our central mission - to build an effective criminal justice system that increases safety, deters violence and is above all fair.
By engaging business, government and civil society, RBIJ seeks to replace discriminatory, draconian and ineffective systems with those that promote opportunity for all. It educates business and trade leaders on the importance and benefits of reform and provides expert strategic guidance on how they can advance it. In doing so, it presents a unique opportunity to deliver meaningful, measurable and enduring change for the most disadvantaged and vulnerable.
The Responsible Business Initiative for Justice works with companies and corporations to fight for fairness and equality in systems of punishment and incarceration - issues include the death penalty, juvenile sentencing, criminal record sealing/expungment (Clean Slate), fair/second chance hiring and more.
