Vencer el Cáncer (VEC) es una Fundación cuyo desafío es concienciar y convencer a los españoles de que se necesita su contribución para financiar la investigación contra el Cáncer: se necesitan nuevos fármacos, más seguros y efectivos, pero hacen falta muchos años de investigación y grandes inversiones para desarrollarlos. Los fondos públicos no son suficientes para poder disponer con rapidez de estos tratamientos, por esa razón se hace necesaria la obtención de fondos privados.
VEC obtiene sus recursos de donaciones privadas y de particulares y la colaboración de empresas, con los que se financiarán programas avanzados de investigación contra el cáncer en instituciones académicas y hospitales españoles.
VEC es una fundación nacional contra el cáncer, independiente de cualquier otra organización científica o clínica ya existente, pero que tiene la voluntad de establecer acuerdos de colaboración con todas ellas en el área de investigación.
