As the cultural, educational, and economic metropolis of Switzerland, as a production location and base of numerous producers, distributors, and filmmakers, Zurich is an ideal location for a film festival. For 11 days each year, the Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) brings exceptional cinema to Zurich, showcasing around 100 film gems from across the globe. These films are personally presented by their creators and stars, who grace the green carpet at our festival center, turning it into Hollywood on the Limmat. The ZFF has become a fixture in the festival landscape: With over 130,000 cinema-goers each year, ZFF is now the second-largest film festival in German-speaking Europe and was named one of the ten coolest film festivals in Europe by The Guardian. The festival is a celebration of cinema for everyone. We offer a diverse and enriching program that includes the Feature Film and Documentary Competition, which promotes emerging filmmakers presenting their first, second, or third directorial works. These cinematic discoveries often find their way to the cinema only thanks to the platform at the festival. In the Gala Premieres, we present the most anticipated auteur films of the year. Many of the films are world or European premieres, and at least Swiss premieres. At ZFF, you can see in autumn the films that will win Oscars half a year later. This top-class program is supplemented by exclusive customer events, dinners, and parties. Over the years, the ZFF has also become a significant industry event. The prestigious Zurich Summit Conference is a premier platform for the creative industries - often referred to as the "Davos of the global film industry." The 2-day event gathers a top-notch lineup of producers, sales executives, and creators, as well as entrepreneurs and financiers.
