querstadtein organizes city tours that invite you to change your perspective: people who were once homeless show the neighborhood on whose streets they used to sleep. City guides from countries such as Syria, Iraq and Kenya, in turn, talk about their escape and show places that made it easier for them to arrive in Germany.
On the tours, the city guides link stages of their own biographies with places in public spaces. As actors in political education, they explain the topics of homelessness, flight and migration. querstadtein organisiert Stadtführungen, die zum Perspektivwechsel einladen: Menschen, die einmal obdachlos waren, zeigen den Kiez, auf dessen Straßen sie früher geschlafen haben. Stadtführer*innen aus Ländern wie Syrien, Irak und Kenia wiederum berichten von ihrer Flucht und zeigen Orte, die ihnen das Ankommen in Deutschland erleichtert haben.
Auf den Touren verknüpfen die Stadtführer*innen Stationen ihrer eigenen Biografie mit Orten im öffentlichen Raum. Als Akteure politischer Bildung klären sie über die Themen Obdachlosigkeit bzw. Flucht und Migration auf. Dabei entsteht Raum für sehr persönliche Gespräche sowie die Chance, Stereotype zu überdenken und Vorurteile abzubauen.
In Berlin gibt es die Stadtführungen von querstadtein seit 2013.
