    [Automatic translation follows] Sweden's Museums was established in 2004. We take advantage of and promote the common interests of the Swedish museum sector. With just over 260 members, we represent large parts of Museum Sweden.

    The country's museums attract roughly 27 million visitors each year, many more than go to the cinema. Museums are important for individuals and significant for society.

    The museums are located all over Sweden and are different from each other with unique collections. If you also count very small museums, there are around 1,600. We see this diversity as a strength and asset.

    We demonstrate the importance of the museum sector in order to create better conditions for our members throughout the country. We monitor politics, respond to referrals and act as the collective voice of the museum sector. Sweden's Museums gets involved in issues that are important to the sector as a whole.

    Sveriges Museer bildades 2004. Vi tar tillvara och driver den svenska museisektorns gemensamma intressen. Med drygt 260 medlemmar representerar vi stora delar av Museisverige.

    Landets museer lockar varje år till drygt 27 miljoner besök, många fler än som går på bio. Museer är viktiga för enskilda människor och betydelsefulla för samhället.

    Museerna finns över hela Sverige och är olika varandra med unika samlingar. Räknar man även väldigt små museer finns det cirka 1600 stycken. Vi ser den här mångfalden som en styrka och tillgång.

    Vi visar på museisektorns betydelse för att på så sätt skapa bättre förutsättningar för våra medlemmar i hela landet. Vi bevakar politiken, svarar på remisser och agerar som museisektorns samlade röst. Sveriges Museer engagerar sig i frågor som är angelägna för sektorn som helhet.
