Gender Equality Media (GEM) is a German non-profit organization with a strong focus on social media campaigning. GEM fights against sexism and works towards an equal and respectful representation of all people in the German media. Focussing on print and online journalism, it conducts media screenings, creates reports, formulates standards for journalists and publishers, and offers in-house workshops. Additional projects include a multi-media documentary and the campaign StopBildSexism.

While GEM is registered in Munich, the team works mainly online. At the moment, the team consists of volunteers only.
