    L'Institut VIDAL I BARRAQUER és un centre de Tarragona ciutat en el qual s’imparteixen els estudis de secundària: Batxillerat i Cicles Formatius, aquests darrers estan representats per quatre famílies professionals: Administració d’Empreses, Comerç i Màrqueting, Informàtica i Serveis a la Comunitat.
    Té una plantilla aproximada de 100 professors que imparteixen les seves classes a uns 1300 alumnes.
    L’Institut Vidal i Barraquer no persegueix ser el millor institut de Tarragona, però, sí ésser el millor institut per a Tarragona, per aconseguir-ho, comptem amb un equip de professors i professores molt qualificats, són professionals involucrats en un projecte de qualitat i millora contínua que s’inicià fa dotze anys i que ens portà a ésser el cinquè Institut de Catalunya que rebé la qualificació ISO,
    El professorat participa activament en projectes d’innovació amb l’objectiu de preparar els alumnes de forma excel·lent, de manera que els permeti continuar amb èxit el batxillerat, cicles formatius o estudis universitaris.
    Els resultats ens avalen, pràcticament la totalitat de l’alumnat que finalitza els estudis de formació professional en les diferents famílies professionals aconsegueix feina en l’àmbit professional que acredita. Cal tenir en compte que disposem d’una borsa de treball prou important, cosa que manté la vinculació no només amb els/les alumnes que ara estan estudiant sinó també amb exalumnes.
