Our Founding Story
Turkish Educational Volunteers Foundation (TEGV) was founded on January 23, 1995, with the initiative of a group of industrialists, managers and academicians, especially Suna Kıraç, who wholeheartedly believed that education is the beginning of everything, with the aim of "supporting the basic education provided by the state".
TEGV was founded with a board of trustees of 55 people united around the belief that lack of education is at the root of many problems our country faces today and that it will not be possible to reach the level of contemporary civilization without solving this problem, and the determination and desire to contribute to this.
TEGV, which focuses on providing "out-of-school education support" to primary school children, has become the most widespread non-governmental organization operating in the field of education in Turkey over the years. TEGV's purpose is; It contributes to the upbringing of our primary school children as individuals who are committed to the basic principles and values of our Republic, rational, prudent, self-confident, thinking, questioning, able to activate their own inner creativity, peaceful, respectful of different thoughts and beliefs, and who do not discriminate against gender, race, religion or language in human relations. Kuruluş Hikayemiz
Türkiye Eğitim Gönüllüleri Vakfı (TEGV), başta Suna Kıraç olmak üzere, eğitimin her şeyin başı olduğuna yürekten inanan bir grup sanayici, yönetici ve akademisyenin girişimi ile "devlet tarafından verilen temel eğitime destek olmak" amacıyla 23 Ocak 1995 tarihinde kuruldu.
TEGV, bugün ülkemizin karşı karşıya bulunduğu birçok sorunun temelinde eğitim yetersizliğinin bulunduğu, bu sorunu çözmeden çağdaş uygarlık seviyesine ulaşılmasının mümkün olmayacağı inancı ve buna katkıda bulunmak azmi ve arzusu etrafında birleşen 55 kişilik bir mütevelli heyetiyle kuruldu.
İlköğretim çağındaki çocuklara "okul dışı eğitim desteği" vermeye odaklanan TEGV, yıllar içinde Türkiye'nin eğitim alanında faaliyet gösteren en yaygın sivil toplum kuruluşu oldu. TEGV 2009 yılında Bakanlar Kurulu tarafından "izin almadan yardım toplama" hakkına sahip vakıflardan biri olarak tanındı.

Eğitim sisteminde tartışılmaz ağırlığı olan devlet, kaynak yetersizliği ve yapısal sorunlar nedeniyle bu görevi yerine getirirken çeşitli güçlüklerle karşılaşmaktadır. Gönüllü kuruluşların, özel sektörün ve vatandaşların, hayati önem taşıyan bu alanda devletin verimliliğini artıracak şekilde; destek olarak, örnekler yaratarak ve eksikleri tamamlayarak sorumluluğu paylaşmaları gerekmektedir. Vakfımızın varoluş nedeni, devlet tarafından verilen temel eğitime katkıda bulunmaktır.
Amacımız
TEGV'in amacı; İlköğretim çağı çocuklarımızın Cumhuriyetimizin temel ilke ve değerlerine bağlı, akılcı, sağduyulu, özgüven sahibi, düşünen, sorgulayan, kendi iç yaratıcılığını harekete geçirebilen, barışçı, farklı düşünce ve inançlara saygılı, insan ilişkilerinde cinsiyet, ırk, din, dil farkı gözetmeyen bireyler olarak yetişmesine katkıda bulunacak eğitim programları ile etkinlikler oluşturmak ve uygulamaktır.
