Vision Statement

To bring a deeper understanding of the use of hydrogen in energy and transportation to a variety of market segments, the California Hydrogen Business Council facilitates meetings, networking, and solutions. Our members are poised to directly implement the technology and service solutions necessary to make the hydrogen economy an environmental and commercial success.

Vision of a Hydrogen Economy
Hydrogen offers the promise of a safe, sustainable energy supply that can be produced domestically. Using hydrogen in transportation and stationary power applications will reduce dependence on foreign oil and positively impact U.S. balance of trade.

When hydrogen is produced from renewable sources and used in a fuel cell to create electric power, it does not contribute to global warming. When reformed and used in internal combustion engines, it greatly reduces carbon, nitrous oxides (NOx), and other harmful greenhouse gas emissions. Each year, 500 billion cubic meters of hydrogen are produced. Its use is growing rapidly.

CHBC Makes the Vision a Reality
The California Hydrogen Business Council actively supports hydrogen's growing commercial use, new applications, and the transition of our energy infrastructure. The CHBC is rallying financial, insurance, and regulatory organizations to support businesses that provide hydrogen products and services.
