    Care. Compassion. Community.

The Prince of Wales Hospice has been supporting patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families since 1989. We are passionate about supporting people and their families in a positive, caring and practical way. We think of ourselves as an integral part of the Five Towns’ community, offering round-the-clock support 365 days a year.

An adult only Hospice with a dedicated team providing a wide range of services including an Incare Unit, Day Therapy, Complementary Therapy and Lymphoedema Clinic to improve the quality of life of patients, their families and carers.

We help nearly 1,000 local people each year with a wide range of life-limiting illnesses. The majority of our patients return home after their symptoms have been managed.

All of our services are provided free of charge to patients. But it costs over £3m a year (£7,540 per day) to run the Hospice – around a quarter of which comes from the NHS. For the rest we rely on your support through our shops, fundraising events, donations and fundraising initiatives in our communities and local companies.

Just £17 could fund a nurse’s care for an hour – providing up to three patients with pain relief, help to move, assistance at meal times and emotional support.

£50 could run all the services needed to run an Incare bedroom for a morning – from medical and nursing care, to family support; providing nutritious food, to rigorous cleaning that helps keep bedrooms infection-free.

£143 could provide our in-care patients with the support of a doctor overnight

£600 could pay for the overnight nursing for the comfort, support and safety of all patients on Incare.

£1,500 could pay for all the activities that Day Therapy patients enjoy (arts, crafts, theme days, etc.) for a year

£2,464 could pay for all the nursing time and supplies needed to run a bedroom for a week.

The Prince of Wales Hospice is an independent hospice.
