Robo’Lyon est la première équipe en France à participer à la FIRST® Robotics Compétition (FRC).
Concours mythique créé par Dean Kamen le créateur du Segway, la FRC est l’une des compétitions les plus réputées,
médiatisées et les plus suivies par les grandes écoles qui repèrent les meilleurs étudiants. Cette compétition s’adresse aux jeunes de 14 à 18 ans qui sont accompagnés par une équipe de mentors bénévoles (professeurs, alumni, professionnels et étudiants).
Robo’Lyon est une association Loi 1901 créée en 2014. L’équipe est composée de jeunes lycéens et de mentors bénévoles (professeurs, alumni, professionnels du monde de l’ingénierie et du commerce, étudiants ...).
Un des objectifs de l’équipe est la professionnalisation des lycéens. En effet, la compétition apporte aux lycéens de nouvelles connaissances en marketing, communication, ingénierie, programmation, mécanique, robotique ... et leur permet de se confronter aux réalités du marché. Le travail d’équipe est capital dans la réussite du projet : écoute, respect des autres et de ses propres engagements, diplomatie, mais aussi capacité à défendre une cause ... Des notions qui serviront quotidiennement. L’expérience est un point clé de notre capacité à trouver un premier emploi. En acquérir dès le lycée, au travers d’une compétition prestigieuse, est un atout pour l’avenir. Cela permettra de mieux comprendre le monde de entrepreneuriat avec ses contraintes et son potentiel.
