Créé en 1989 et comptant 14 communes à l’origine, le SICTIAM (Syndicat mixte d’Ingénierie pour les Collectivités et Territoires Innovants des Alpes et de la Méditerranée) est aujourd’hui l’un des plus grands établissements de services numériques et énergétiques du secteur public.
