Acteur global de l’habitat dans la métropole orléanaise depuis plus de cent ans, Les résidences de l’Orléanais (société d’économie mixte) construisent, acquièrent et commercialisent des logements. Propriétaires et gestionnaires d’un patrimoine de 10 000 logements parmi lesquels des structures d’accueil spécifiques (logements pour personnes âgées ou handicapées, foyers pour jeunes travailleurs, logements étudiants...), l'entreprise contribue ainsi au logement de plus de 21 000 personnes.
Anciennement Office Public, les résidences de l'orléanais ont traversé le temps sous différentes appellations (OPHBM, OPHLM, OPAC, OPH), s'adaptant aux impératifs et aux contraintes de chaque époque, pour servir la cause immuable à l'origine de sa création : le logement des personnes les plus modestes et les plus fragiles. Elle s'est construite malgré les nombreux impondérables qui ont émaillé le siècle passé, a grandi au rythme des décisions politiques et des besoins de la population de l'Orléanais, considérant qu'offrir un toit à chacun reste le ciment de la cohésion sociale et la plus noble des missions.
