Located in Grenoble within the Edmond J. Safra biomedical research center, the Clinatec Fund works with teams from the CEA, CHU Grenoble Alpes and Université Grenoble Alpes. A project accelerator, the Endowment Fund was created in 2014 to support and develop research at the crossroads of the medical and technological worlds.
From the idea to clinical trials, he develops medical devices as alternatives to drugs, thus making it possible to maintain the quality of life, autonomy and social inclusion of people suffering from neuro-cerebral conditions or lesions such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy or quadriplegia.
The Clinatec Fund aims to enable the opening of new therapeutic avenues for pathologies for which there is no satisfactory solution, using innovative approaches: infrared light to protect and heal our brain, electrostimulation to block symptoms and cold on our cells to prevent the onset of epileptic seizures.
Thanks to direct access to innovative technologies and experts from the CEA, it simultaneously carries out fundamental, preclinical and clinical research in conjunction with a network of partners: the CEA, the UGA and several university hospitals. It includes laboratories, a hospital sector including an operating theater and brings together 90 doctors, researchers, engineers, biologists and administrative staff.
Tomorrow, the Clinatec Fund wants to go even further by working on the biggest therapeutic challenges of our century and propose new solutions by 2030 to make the impossible possible.

Implanté à Grenoble au sein du centre de recherche biomédicale Edmond J. Safra, le Fonds Clinatec travaille avec les équipes du CEA, du CHU Grenoble Alpes et de l’Université Grenoble Alpes. Accélérateur de projets, le Fonds de dotation a été créé en 2014 pour soutenir et développer une recherche à la croisée des mondes médicaux et technologiques.
De l’idée jusqu’aux essais cliniques, il développer des dispositifs médicaux comme alternatives aux médicaments permettant ainsi de maintenir la qualité de vie, l’autonomie et l’inclusion sociale des personnes souffrant d’affections ou de lésions neuro-cérébrales telles que la maladie de Parkinson, la maladie d’Alzheimer, l’épilepsie ou la tétraplégie.
Le Fonds Clinatec a vocation à permettre l’ouverture de nouvelles voies thérapeutiques pour des pathologies pour lesquelles il n’existe aucune solution satisfaisante, en utilisant des approches novatrices : la lumière infrarouge pour protéger et guérir notre cerveau, l’électrostimulation pour bloquer les symptômes et le froid sur nos cellules pour empêcher le déclenchement des crises d’épilepsie.
Grace à un accès direct aux technologies innovantes et aux experts du CEA, il mène de front une recherche fondamentale, préclinique et clinique en lien avec un réseau de partenaires : le CEA, l’UGA et plusieurs CHUs. Il comprend des laboratoires, un secteur hospitalier intégrant un bloc opératoire et rassemble 90 médecins, chercheurs, ingénieurs, biologistes et personnels administratifs.
Demain, le Fonds Clinatec veut aller encore plus loin en travaillant sur les plus grands défis thérapeutiques de notre siècle et proposer de nouvelles solutions d’ici 2030 pour rendre possible l’impossible.
