Bilingual inter-university program that educates, funds, and supports students in the social solidarity economy.
CHNGR (« changer ») is part of a global movement that aims to co‐create an economic system, which is more democratic and fair. We are particularly interested in the growing number of collective and social entrepreneurship projects in Quebec, in addition to those stemming from social innovation.
To better integrate students wishing to have a positive impact we aim to highlight the paths that can lead
them to change‐making initiatives, and collaborate with post‐secondary institutions with this goal in mind.
In order to do so, our cohort of ambassadors, bursary recipients from universities and CEGEPs of the greater Montreal area, collaborate with key players on their campuses. They aim to integrate new notions within the campus (social innovation, social economy, collective and social entrepreneurship, democratic decision-making) as well as promoting opportunities to have a social impact (employment, projects, entrepreneurship).
CHNGR is an initiative of Chantier de l’Économie Sociale, TIESS, Concordia University (Institut Karl Polanyi, District 3) and takes root thanks to funding provided through RECODE of the J.W. McConnell foundation.
