This framework is mutualist in nature and outlines the contours of a new form of organization: “mutuality of work”.

Multi-activité et ouverte, Coopaname propose à tout travailleur, qu'elle soit graphiste ou rempailleur de chaises, consultante ou e-commerçant, développeur informatique ou magicienne, d'intégrer librement la coopérative, d'y apporter son savoir-faire et d'y développer de manière autonome une activité économique qui lui permettra de s’y constituer revenus directs et protections sociales.
Ensemble, coopanamiennes et coopanamiens construisent une entreprise commune, démocratique et exigeante, afin de s’y donner collectivement le droit du travail, les sécurités, la formation professionnelle, la mutualisation des risques, les solidarités sociales dont ils ont besoin pour exercer leurs métiers selon les exigences de leur art, dans de bonnes conditions économiques, sociales, éthiques. Ni dépendants, ni indépendants, les coopérateurs inventent au quotidien un cadre original où le rapport au travail est fondé sur un lien social et non un lien de subordination (que cette dernière soit juridique ou économique) ou un rapport commercial. Ce cadre est de nature mutualiste et trace les contours d’une nouvelle forme d’organisation : la « mutualité de travail ».
Créée en 2004, Coopaname rassemble à ce jour environ 650 personnes à divers stades du développement des activités économiques qu’elles animent, seules ou en groupes de coopérations.
