The BNEI, an association under the 1901 law, is the organization representing the 193,500 engineering students. It is administered and run by volunteer engineering students.

Le BNEI, association loi 1901, est l’organisation représentant les 193 500 élèves-ingénieurEs. Elle est administrée et animée par des élèves-ingénieurs, bénévoles.
Fidèle à ses valeurs d’indépendance de toute idéologie politique, confessionnelle ou syndicale, le BNEI se positionne uniquement sur les thématiques pour lesquelles il a mandat : vie étudiante, formation, insertion professionnelle des élèves-ingénieurs et promotion de la filière. Ces valeurs sont naturellement celles des élèves-ingénieurs responsables associatifs et élus en conseils d’écoles.
Afin de renforcer le modèle ascendant, le BNEI dispose d’une trentaine de Bureaux Régionaux des Elèves Ingénieurs (BREI).
Les BREI sont des associations loi 1901 qui représentent ou administrent le BNEI pour une région ou une agglomération. A cette échelle, elles y assurent la cohésion et la représentation des élèves-ingénieurs. Ce schéma favorise ainsi la mutualisation des bonnes pratiques et la prise en considération de l’ensemble des problématiques locales, dans les domaines précités.
