L’association MIGADO – Migrateurs Garonne Dordogne Charente Seudre – est une association Loi 1901, créée en 1989 à la demande du Ministère de L’Environnement.
Elle a pour objectifs principaux la gestion, la restauration et le soutien des populations de poissons migrateurs du bassin Gironde-Garonne-Dordogne-Charente-Seudre qui est le dernier bassin hydrographique à accueillir les 8 espèces historiquement présentes à savoir : l’esturgeon européen, le saumon atlantique, la truite de mer, la grande alose, l’alose feinte, la lamproie marine, la lamproie fluviatile et l’anguille européenne.
Agréée association de protection de l’environnement et déclarée d’intérêt général, MIGADO est aujourd’hui la plus importante association de France en charge de développer des actions techniques en faveur des poissons migrateurs.
Ses principaux domaines d’action sont le suivi et la gestion des populations, la production piscicole, la conservation et la réintroduction d’espèces, le suivi des milieux aquatiques, l’animation de programmes et l’éducation à l’environnement destinée principalement à de jeunes publics.
