    The CEMÉAs have chosen training as their main lever of action. The association, permanently supported by action research work, intervenes in the following fields: education, voluntary and professional activities, health, cultural support.

    The CEMÉAs are organized into a national, European and international network.
    At the national level, CEMÉAs have been recognized as being of public utility since 1966, complementary to public education, approved by the Ministries of National Education, Sports, Youth, Popular Education and Community Life.

    At the European and international level, CEMÉAs have extensive experience in exchange and management of transnational projects. Recognized as a European NGO by the European Commission, they are involved in 2 international networks: FICEMÉA (International Federation of CEMÉA) and EAICY (European network of non-formal education) as well as in different European platforms: EUCIS-LLL, European Forum of Youth, Solidar. They are partners of the OFAJ, the national agencies “youth in action”​ and “2E2F”​.

    The CEMÉAs rely on a network of activists, permanent or non-permanent. Any person or structure interested in New Education, the CEMÉA project or training can join the association (active member), or simply support it (supporting member).

    Les CEMÉA ont choisi la formation comme principal levier d’action. L’association, en permanence adossée à des travaux de recherche-action, intervient dans les champs suivants : l’éducation, l’animation volontaire et professionnelle, la santé, l’accompagnement culturel.

    Les CEMÉA sont organisés en réseau national, européen et international.
    Au niveau national, les CEMÉA sont reconnus d’utilité publique depuis 1966, complémentaires de l’Enseignement public, agréés par les Ministères de l’Éducation Nationale, des Sports, de la Jeunesse, de l'Éducation populaire et de la Vie associative.

    Au niveau européen et international, les CEMÉA ont une grande expérience dans l'échange et la conduite de projets transnationaux.
