Innovations for the digital society of the future are the focus of research and development work at Fraunhofer HHI.

As a leading research institution based in Berlin, Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute creates innovations for the digital society of the future. The institute’s work focuses on the development of mobile and optical communication networks, fiber optical sensor systems as well as the processing and coding of video signals.
In close cooperation with other research institutions and industry partners, Fraunhofer HHI contributes to the enhancement of digital infrastructures by providing fundamental research for the development of prototypes and applicable solutions. The institute also develops new standards for information and communication technologies.
