Créé en 2005 à la suite de la fusion de quatre unités du CNRS, EconomiX est une Unité Mixte de Recherche (UMR 7235) placée sous la double tutelle du CNRS et de l’Université Paris Nanterre. Elle fait partie de l’INSHS et est rattachée à la section économie et gestion du Comité national du CNRS.
Rassemblant environ 180 membres, EconomiX est l’un des pôles majeurs français en sciences économiques. Les activités de recherche sont structurées autour de trois axes :
- Transitions, Environnement, Énergie, Institutions, Territoires,
- Comportements, Droits et Bien-être
- Macroéconomie internationale, finance, matières premières et économétrie financière.
Les enseignants-chercheurs et chercheurs d’EconomiX sont impliqués dans l’Unité de Formation et de Recherche de Sciences économiques, gestion, mathématiques, informatique (SEGMI) de Paris Nanterre. Ils collaborent activement à des recherches inter-disciplinaires en mathématiques, droit, gestion, sociologie et histoire.
EconomiX est rattaché à l’école doctorale Économie, Organisations, Société de l’université Paris Nanterre.

EconomiX est un laboratoire de recherche de l'Université Paris Nanterre et du CNRS (UMR 7235) en sciences économiques alliant des démarches empiriques à des développements théoriques.
