FMDV acts through three principal lines of work:

 Deploy demand-driven financial engineering solutions, at all scales of action

• International and regional Experts Directory & Catalogue of strategies, engineering and mechanisms adapted to financing and local economical development needs
• Financial hubs (national or regional units of expertise on subnational financing: empowerment, expertise on institutional environments, strategy and engineering, support for project preparation and transactions)
• Communities of practices, Expert Meetings, targeted Trainings
• City Funding Corporation (a company co-created with EDII, providing financial engineering services such as refinancing, debt negotiation, bond issuing preparation, PPPs montage)

 Create enabling institutional environments, and stakeholders convergence to accelerate solution implementation and scaling

FMDV here positions itself as a Knowledge Hub, and as a permanent incubator of operational strategies (Policy-Action Lab).
